These Terms and Conditions apply to all patients who access psychiatric services provided by PsycheTel Australia (“PsycheTel Australia”, “PA”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
By booking an appointment with PsycheTel Australia, you agree to the terms outlined below.
PsycheTel Australia is a psychiatric clinic providing specialist psychiatry services, primarily via telehealth.
All Psychiatry Services are provided directly by psychiatrists practising with PsycheTel Australia. Our psychiatrists hold Specialist Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and are Fellows of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP).
Most consultations are conducted via secure video or telehealth platforms.
By proceeding with a telehealth consultation, you acknowledge that:
telehealth consultations differ from in-person appointments;
technical interruptions or connection issues may occur;
consultations are conducted using encrypted systems, however absolute confidentiality cannot be guaranteed;
either you or your psychiatrist may discontinue the consultation if the technical quality is inadequate;
consultations are not recorded.
Where clinically appropriate, your psychiatrist may recommend involvement of your general practitioner for physical assessments, investigations or prescriptions.
PsycheTel Australia is not a crisis or emergency service and does not provide inpatient or emergency care.

Consultation fees vary depending on the appointment type and will be communicated to you prior to your appointment.
Appointments are privately billed. Medicare rebates may be available depending on your referral and eligibility.
Where applicable, PsycheTel Australia may submit Medicare claims on behalf of patients. Medicare rebates are subject to referral requirements and individual eligibility and are not guaranteed.
Payments are processed prior to the appointment. Card processing fees may apply.
To ensure appointment availability and fairness to all patients, the following cancellation policy applies:
More than 24 hours’ notice
No cancellation fee. An alternative appointment may be offered.
Less than 24 hours’ notice (but more than 2 hours)
A cancellation fee applies:
Initial appointment: $550
Follow-up appointment: $300
Less than 2 hours’ notice or failure to attend (no-show)
The full consultation fee will be charged.
Cancellation fees may be waived at the discretion of the Practice Manager in the following circumstances:
medical or family emergency;
first-time cancellation (Practice Manager discretion);
technical failure on our side.
You agree to:
attend scheduled appointments or provide appropriate notice if unable to attend;
provide accurate and complete information relevant to your care;
ensure you are in a private, safe environment for telehealth consultations.
All personal and health information is handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and applicable health records legislation.
Clinical records are maintained securely by your treating psychiatrist in accordance with professional and legal requirements.
If you have concerns regarding your care, we encourage you to raise them directly with your treating psychiatrist.
You may also lodge a complaint with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
To the extent permitted by law, PsycheTel Australia is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from the provision of services.
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).
These Terms and Conditions may be updated from time to time. The most current version will be published on our website.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia.
